Type of cursor when deleting/inserting rows
Hi,
It is very difficult to determine the active point in an I beam cursor. When a cell in a table is selected, and one wants to add e.g. a row above or below, sometimes a row is added sometime deleted, depending on just how the cursor is positioned. It would be much easier if the cursor type were converted to an arrow head when hovering over the relevant icons on the cell border.

Have you not noticed a colour change telling you which part of the control will be activated?
In fact, no I hadn't (the icons are very small and crowded close together), but now that you mention it I can see it if I look closely. Nevertheless, I think a change in cursor type would be helpful anyway. Thanks for your help.
how do I enlarge the cursor?
Hi Bill,
Rather than enlarging the cursor, I would suggest changing the type of cursor from an I beam to an arrow head when hovering over the icon or when leaving the actual text field. The tip of the arrow head is the active point, and can readily be used to indicate the correct icon, whereas the active point in an "I" beam cursor is difficult to locate.
To make it easier to see: You could use zoom to enlarge the view. 'View' > 'Zoom' > 'Zoom In' or use keyboard 'Ctrl' ++
Alternative: Use the Toolbar: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tables-format-messages-rows-and-columns#w_add-or-delete-a-column-or-row
Hi,
That is how I did it until I realized that the icons provided the same function. Using the icons would quicker and easier, if my original suggestion were implemented. Instead of looking for a workaround, why not just take my suggestion on board? Is it so difficult to implement?

Hi,
I just tried this, and the table was enlarged, but the icons were not. Furthermore, the table moved as it expanded, but the icons were left behind, and became dissociated from the table. So, not only does this not work, but it has exposed a bug as well. I should add that this only happens when the table is inserted after some text. If the table is the first thing in an empty message, then it is forced to expand with the top left hand corner in place, which means that the icons are still "connected" to the table.
