Hi i have been using Firerox for some time as the only browser that will allow me to paste an image into an online compliance tool that we use, i think its html.

But as of recently it wont allow me to past the image. I can paste text with Cmd V but cant paste and image . Any help would be greatly appreciated. In Safari i can paste the image but when i save the file the image disappears.

Hi, sometimes websites have put a block on that ability to do that. I have that ability with my host provider.

What security software are you running please ?

What is the Compliance tool and have you checked with them ?

Since no information came about your Extensions please try this : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

I think Firefox itself only handles pasting of text. When it comes to pasting of images, the site detects there is a paste and then grabs it's preferred format from the clipboard (the clipboard often has multiple formats available). Since this is done by a script, issues with broken or blocked scripts are always a possibility.

And just in case...

Some users have been working around a problem pasting into comments on a well-known video site by disabling website scripts from detecting pastes. To double-check that setting:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste CLIPB and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to false, double-click it to restore the default value of true
