Hi, this worked for someone : I think point it at that and run it. glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/
This says they know what it is and seems they know how to fix it : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?format=default&id=1474326

Hi, all of your drivers are in bad shape and should be reinstalled as they are disabled, unavailable, blocked
Please : try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
then
TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:
If is your Profile :
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Hi Pkshadow, Thanks for these suggestions! Unfortunately, I tried them all and the problem presists (still crashes whenever I try to save any file - including the bookmark backup). When I start firefox from the command line, it leaves the following message during the crash:
(firefox:13248): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: No GSettings schemas are installed on the system
Maybe some library incompatibility? This is the content of /usr/lib64/firefox/bundled/share/glib-2.0/schemas :
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 2839 Jul 6 16:37 gschema.dtd -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 2940 Aug 10 18:51 gschemas.compiled -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 618 Jul 6 16:37 org.gtk.Demo.gschema.xml -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 845 Jul 6 16:37 org.gtk.exampleapp.gschema.xml -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 931 Jul 6 16:37 org.gtk.Settings.ColorChooser.gschema.xml -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 833 Jul 6 16:37 org.gtk.Settings.Debug.gschema.xml -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 623 Jul 6 16:37 org.gtk.Settings.EmojiChooser.gschema.xml -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 5354 Jul 6 16:37 org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser.gschema.xml
