Hello,

there is something I don't understand.

Each time I open Firefox and any even also very small other Window is on the desktop it starts in the left upper corner and not in the last position.

Thunderbird instead always starts correctly in the last position.

Is there any way to get Firefox behave the same way starting in last position?

Thanks a lot in advance for your hint.

Alex

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/changes-toolbars-and-window-sizes-are-not-saved You may have corrupt xulstore.json file.

Close Firefox. Open your file browser to this hidden location:

  • Mac: *~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles
  • Linux: *~/.mozilla/firefox/Profiles
  • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
  • *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data \Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

Search for the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Are you in KDE? if so, this is what I use. Not sure about Gnome, not a fan.

Hello,

deleting xulstore.json gave me a completely virgin status of firefox but didn’t solve the problem.

I would more specify it. When opening firefox without any other window on desktop, all is working correctly and firefox reopens in rhe position it was closed before. But if any other window is on desktop, even outside the area if firefox it is opened in left upper corner.

Ans as I had mentioned before thunderbird works always perfectly.

It is Ubuntu 18.04 with gnome and it applies to all windows, no matter which is opened.
