How do I change back to the search bar in the middle of my screen rather than the address bar at the top?

Firefox has switched from taking my search options out of the search bar in the middle of my screen and puts them in the address bar which wants to make everything www. and is annoying for me.

Hey,

You should still be able to search normally even if it goes to the address bar, if you mean that after you start searching for something, Firefox starts auto-completing it, and you don't want that, you can explicitly tell Firefox you want to search something with Search Shortcuts i.e: @ddg Search Query.

You can set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar = false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
