I am using Thunderbird with CalDav + Nextcloud (TBSync) for calendaring. The accounts are setup on multiple computers. Email sync's fine (IMAP, not related to this post except to say syncing happens). The calendars sync fine.

Reminders, however, do not.

When I dismiss a reminder on one computer, that state does not sync / propagate to the other computers. This leads to several annoying things: 1. The beeping for a reminder continues on other workstations until I go over there and dismiss it too. 2. When I try to dismiss it, I get the conflict message where it asks if I disregard my changes and adopt the server's state for the reminders, or keep my own (I always chose server).

I feel like Thunderbird should notice that the reminder was dismissed by another instance of thunderbird, and just close the reminder after it has been dismissed by another installation on another computer.

Is this possible? Did I not set something up correctly?

TIA.

Really I do not think what you are asking is possible. Issuing a reminder is just opening a dialog, the software does not monitor what you do with that dialog until such time as you interact with it, it certainly does not report back to the server that a reminder dialog exists on that instance. that is not how CALDAV works.

It will be quite happy to tear down the reminder dialog when the program closes and not put it up again for the same reason open dialog as just there, waiting for something interactive to happen.
