Automatic conversion to OAUTH2 for gmail did not happen and manual configuration does not help
My gmail account was configured for POP access and worked perfectly for years. Today, I can no longer receive or send email. Upon checking account settings, they still showed normal password. I changed them to OAUTH2 and made sure cookie settings were correct. I restarted TB and it still does not work. I am presented with the enter credentials screen. I do that and then click allow. At that point, the deny and allow buttons remain gray and the credentials screen does not go away unless I manually close it. I have attached screen grabs of my settings.
TIA for any suggestions.

Problem solved. I found that javascript.allow.mailnews must be set to "true" for this to work.
So you had disabled javascript. Was that you or some software you installed?
On reflection. That preferences was removed in V3. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=248280
Javascript is managed with Javascript.enabled. So perhaps you could expand on what you have said.
Matt,
I did see where that setting was to be removed long ago, yet it still exists in my v91.10.0 Windows x64 installation
along with javascript.enabled true. It was when I flipped the "removed" setting that my mail began working again. HOWEVER, one of my three gmail accounts is back to not working today. I deleted the password for that account and restarted TB yet I am back to the credentials screen hanging after clicking "Allow". I have attached all settings with java as a keyword. Hopefully someone much smarter than I can quickly spot the trouble. In summary, two of three accounts ARE still working, one has stopped working.
Thanks again.
