If other software can't delete cookies, it's the problem with that software.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about these cookies too much or delete them by hand.

You could also try: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Disabling+third+party+cookies https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11073/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6623/

If deleting cookies does not work, it is possible the file that stores cookies is corrupt. To test this you can delete the file that stores cookies and let Firefox re-create it.

The cookie file is stored in the profile folder, for details of how to access that folder see the profiles article. Once you have accessed the profile folder, close Firefox and then delete or rename cookies.sqlite. When you re-start Firefox the cookies file will be re-created.

You can try SuperAntiSpyware as it does detect tracking cookies (I don't know if all or most of them) and let you quarantine and then remove them.

This is about the only free program I know of that can detect tracking cookies. I have Spybot and Ad-Aware and none of them can detect these tracking cookies.

Did you find the cookies.sqlite file? Deleting that file will remove all cookies.

I think you are hoping that all cookies will be gone from the list. But I don't think it's possible. Every time you get on any websites, there are bound to be cookies come with them. Personally, I don't think it's possible to avoid getting any cookies. Maybe I am wrong.

Do you have an extension like TACO (Abine) that maintains a set of OPT-OUT cookies? Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out (TACO): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/11073

This tool sets permanent, generic, non personally identifiable opt-out cookies in the user's browser, which will prevent 90 different online advertising networks (including Google, Microsoft and Yahoo) from displaying highly targeted advertisements using the detailed information on users' web surfing habits which they collect.

Unlike other earlier opt-out solutions, this tool will make the cookies completely persistent. That is, clearing the browser's cookies will delete all other installed cookies, except these.

Users wishing to delete these 100+ cookies (some advertising networks require multiple cookies, for different domain names) must first remove the add-on, before then deleting all installed cookies from the preferences window.
