does it refer to a specific sqlite-file. firefox for example stores all your cookies in a .sqlite file - some of those might be detected as malicious tracking cookies. deleting this file would have the same effect as clearing all cookies from inside firefox...

if you choose to delete them from within your security software, you should probably close all running firefox windows before you do so.

I just checked and they are all cookies. I then checked the Details which I've never done and it shows a bunch of Ads like Double click, etc.

I will do as you suggest and close the browser before I delete them.

I do wonder why this only happens on the Windows 7 operating system and never on my desktop.

those cookies are probably set by advertiser sites that embed banners on websites that you are visiting.

you might want to change your privacy settings in firefox to keep cookies until you close the browser (but then active logins on sites won't be stored for the next session, however you could still allow cookies for certain sites you are trusting by right-clicking on a page > going to page info & setting the permissions) or don't accept cookies from third-party sites (will cause problems on some pages). also refer to Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop

or install an addon like adblock plus & a filterlist to block most of the embedded adverts.

Thanks for your input. I just deleted them but I have the same Add-On on my laptop that I have on my Desktop (DoNotTrackPlus) but I don't get the same results when I run MalWareBytes on this Desktop.

I have the same Privacy settings on both PC's. Guess it's one of life's little mysteries. :(
