For some reason, Mozilla or will not let me download from just about any site including yours. This has not always been a problem. It just started a little while back. Maybe after an update? Not sure. Hope you can help solve this. Thanks Nancy

So you may need to check the list of extensions and disable or remove ones that are nonessential or unrecognized. Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable or remove.

Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Hopefully that will completely get rid of it.

If it comes back, you may need to uninstall something from the Windows Control Panel.

Hi Nancy, could you describe the problem in more detail? For example:

  • Does Firefox display an error message?
  • Or do you click and nothing happens?
  • Or does Firefox seems to download the file, but it isn't actually there when you go looking for it?

In case one of your extensions is causing this problem, could you test a couple of the same sites in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled (Flash and other plugins still run)

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is interfering otherwise.

Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

I try to keep unused installations deleted. And i don't use hardly any add-ons and checked that one already. But thank you for your help. It's always nice to do something on your computer then get an answer that kinda' validates what ya' already done.

I admit i'm surprised with this site. Quick reply's and very helpful.

Thanks
