About a month ago I began the process of upgrading from W10 to W11. In the process, several problems happened. One of the problems was with Firefox. After reading and trying many suggestions from the Mozilla site, as well as several other sites, and having no success, I posted my problem on this Mozilla support site and hope that there was someone who could help. There was. After several days of exchanging messages (suggestions, instructions and results - mostly about Profile), Firefox returned.
The other major problem is Thunderbird. I have downloaded a current version (128.5.2esr). I have run it twice and, each time, email was downloaded. So that part seems to be working. What doesn’t appear are the settings I have used and message folders I have created over several years. I suspect that the problems are Profile related.
Starting from Help in the Thunderbird menu, then Troubleshooting Information, then Application Basics, I see Profile Folder. On that line is a button labeled Open Folder followed by (Local Drive). I click Open Folder and File Explorer opens to a folder named ab3xaztm.default-esr. It shows that the folder contains 59 items, including 10 subfolders. All files and folders show a December date.
Following the path C:\Users\rsuth\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\, in addition to ab3x…, there is another folder nlys3gkl.default that contains only 1 file, times.json.
Because of my earlier struggle – and eventual win – with the Firefox problem, I think that the Thunderbird problem might also be fixed in a similar way: Profile.
Slightly before the upgrading from W10 to W11, I made a copy of my Thunderbird folder. I think if I replace the currently active Thunderbird folder with the one I have saved, my Thunderbird problem may be over. However, I’m not certain that will happen and I’m not certain about the specific steps to take to make the replacement. (With my Firefox issue, there were a couple of small important steps I had to take to make it work, and those steps were explained to me by the person who helped me with my Firefox problem. So, after all these words, can someone point me in the direction to solve my Thunderbird problem?

meine E-Mails aus meinem Posteingang und aus sämtlichen übrigen Ordnern (außer dem Spam-Ordner) werden seit ein paar Tagen scheinbar automatisch von Thunderbird in in den Papierkorb meines GMX-Accounts verschoben. Dass die Löschung meiner E-Mails tatsächlich von Thunderbird aktiv durchführt wird, kann man auch mit Hilfe des Aktivitätenfensters (Tools -> Activity Manager) beobachten.
Sämtliche allgemeine Empfehlungen (Verhinderung eines Fremdzugriffs) habe ich befolgt - ohne dass dies geholfen hätte - zum Beispiel habe ich mein Passwort geändert, die Zwei-Faktor-Authentifizierung bei GMX aktiviert, Virenscans durchgeführt, die Filterregeln kontrolliert (kein Einsortieren in den Papierkorb oder den Gelöscht-Ordner), die Spamfilter kontrolliert (Spam-Mails werden nicht verschoben oder gelöscht) und alle Zugriffsberechtigungen (Logins von anderen Programmen und Geräten) zurückgesetzt.
Was kann ich tun, um meine E-Mails zu retten?

Sometimes, when I delete one email from the inbox, the inbox shows "no message found", even though there are still other emails in the inbox. The remaining emails are still in the inbox, they just don't show. If I right click on inbox in the left panel, and select "open in new tab", the remaining emails show in the new tab, just not in the main inbox. If I close out thunderbird and start it again, the emails show in the main inbox. The problem occurs occasionally, whether I select delete from the menu bar, hit the delete key, or right click on the entry and select the trash can icon.
This problem started maybe 10 or more updates ago. For each new update I think "surely it will be fixed this time".
I have included a partial screenshot of what it looks like after the problem occurs.
This problem is different than any other questions I have found in the search. It purely a visual presentation error, not disastrous, just highly annoying. Any solutions will be greatly appreciated.

I added a new Outlook account to Thunderbird and it is not showing in Thunderbird. I added the new email account to Outlook client, and the email is comign in fine. So, its a Thunderbird issue.
I used the default IMAP settings when addding the new account.
I gave it the required/requested "permissions" as promoted.
This use to work fine in Thunderbird, as I have added several Outloook acounts prior which are coming in fine, but it seems it is no longer working now.

I'm having a rather strange problem...I often need to quick filter messages to find certain emails, but for the past few weeks, any time I filter for a specific email (e.g. 3355 - a job number) and then click on the email I want to respond to, it disappears from the list of filtered emails. I imagine this must be some setting in Thunderbird that has gotten toggled in the wrong way, but I can't find the problem. Any idea why this might be happening?

A few days ago my wife clicked to open an email and the whole Thunderbird page changed so that it is now almost un-usable. I tried using the program that allows you to recover to a previous day with no luck. In frustration I saved the email file from profiles, uninstalled Thunderbird, rebooted then downloaded a new copy of the software and installed it, no luck, it opened with all my emails in the same almost un-usable configuration I can still receive email from a webmail program but it is slow and frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bruce

Now I can receive all emails, but cannot send any emails. (I am able to send email through Spectrum webmail.) In Spectrum, I have a main account, and 3 subaccounts. In the Outgoing Server SMPT settings in Thunderbird, where it asks User Name, which email account do I use, the main one or one of the subaccounts? I seems the SMPT setting is for both the main and the three subaccounts, not for each separately. Also, is there something else I need to do as I didn’t back up the latest Thunderbird profile? Years back everything worked fine and I had a long history of email saved, then it all went to hell. Frontier mail hooked up with Yahoo!mail. A Version change with Thunderbird caused it to stop connecting to my [edited] @frontiernet.net account for quite a while then it was working again but started giving me the Login Failed and asking me for a new password until it would finally connect without my having given it anything. What should I do?
