After restoring my macbook pro to a backup, I cannot open firefox and essential data stored in a zotero extension.

I trying to access my citation manager that I used through firefox called zotero to finish up some thesis work. However, I recently had dramatic computer problems and did a reset using my saved backup on an external. Every other application seems to be working fine but firefox won't start (when clicking on the application the web browser doesn't fire up) and therefore I cannot access the information I need. I want to make sure I don't lose the information and still be able to open the browser. Let me know, Thanks

IMO, the first thing to do is to look for your Zotero data file in the Firefox Profile, and save it elsewhere before trying to fix Firefox. https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data

What is your computer system and Firefox?

Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding .old to them.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.
