one message has an icon in the thread column, what does this mean?

more options

I typed some stuff without hitting reply first, and things happened to my emails. I managed to correct all of it except that one email has an icon in the thread column. I have lots of emails with replies, which show as threads when I switch to threaded view, but this one is the only one with an icon in the column. It's a thread icon plus a G. It doesn't seem to be an ignored thread, as I can toggle ignoring on and off (and the icon switches to a red circle-with-bar). What does the G mean? Do I need to worry about this message and thread behaving differently?

Only partly. The G doesn't appear in that list. Here is a screenshot of it. I'm on Windows and have not changed the default theme or added any addons of any kind.

Thanks for your help!

Have not seen that one before. Maybe someone else will come along with an idea.

Do you know where I can find an explanation of what *any* icon in the thread column means? I always thought that threading was a view setting, not any kind of metadata on the messages themselves. I can find info on how to view and ignore threads, and how to show or hide the columns, and it seems clear enough that the red circle-with-bar icon means an ignored thread, but just "it's a thread" isn't at all clear to me.

You can Google Thunderbird icons and see if you find anything different.
