My private settings reset themselves to "use custom settings" instead of "never remember history" after last Firefox update on 10/27. When I set them back, they reverse themselves again. Also I had Firefox as my homepage and it reset itself to a blank page. I followed forum instructions to reset in Safari but it reverse itself again. I have Firefox set as my homepage in Preferences. Is this a problem with Firefox or did I got a virus? Where do I find the "Advance System Care w/Sec. Protection in a MacBookAir? Please help.

Hi Happy 112. Thank you for your help. I tried "Refresh" and so far it seems to be working. I reset the settings to my choices and sign out and in again and the changes remain. Hope they will stay there. Thank you for helping me!

Note that it is quite normal to see "Use custom settings for history". "Use custom settings for history" allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this choice doesn't make changes to the history and cookie settings. You will see "Use custom settings for history" selected if at least one of the History settings is not the default to make you aware that you made changes.

The "Use custom settings..." choice will stay selected in case at least one history setting is not the default. When all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History". "Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.

Thank you Cor-el for your explanation. It is very useful. I apologize for the delay in my response to you. It was very rude of me. After I got Happy112's response and I refresh my browser my problem was solved and I didn't open my email acc. again until today. (very rude). I have like 20 email unopened and I didn't see yours until today. Please excuse me. Any help or advise you guys can give me is very much appreciated. I am grateful for your help. Thank you.
