How do i get newly added bookmarked pages to go into my main book mark folder instead of automatically going to the recently book marked folder by default?

a few weeks ago when i clicked "bookmark this page" it would go to the bottom of my book marks list unless i specified another folder. Now it irritatingly goes to recent book marks which over time will double the number of steps it takes to track down the book marks, and serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever, as by default, your recent book marks would appear in chronological order at the bottom anyway. that's how you know they are recent! And if you wanted to sort them, you could.

But when i move something from the recent folder, it spams up the recent folder with two copies. If i delete the recent folder copy, it deletes BOTH copies! This is terrible UI!

Recent bookmarks is not a real folder, but is a so called smart folder that shows the result of a query. The bookmarks you see in this smart list are stored elsewhere in other bookmark folders. The current release stores all new bookmarks in the Other Bookmarks folder and no longer in the Bookmarks Menu folder.

You can look at this extension to set the default folder:
