Firefox constantly crashing my new PC
I've used Firefox a long time without any issues on my old PC (i5-7400, 8gb RAM).
I got a new PC (I5-8400, 8gb RAM) and it just crashes my whole pc all the time, usually I have to turn it off because it locks my whole pc up.
I've tried turning hardware acceleration off and tried turning on prevent accessibility services which doesn't make a difference. I've also tried reinstalling.

This is the only one that is there.
That crash is pointing to your graphics driver. Can you try updating it? Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL
Everything is up to date it says.
Its a Geforce 1070ti, geforce experience driver and windows update is all on the newest version.
Does not matter, Crash Report says Video Drivers it is Video Drivers. Reinstall them or do not.
PK, please reserve your comments to helpful advice.
OP, you said you did try turning off Hardware acceleration?
I'm wondering if there's something else messed up on your computer.
Maybe some general troubleshooting can help:
- Uninstall all Anti-virus from your computer. Use the built in Windows Defender
- Download malwarebytes, www.malwarebytes.com, and run a scan.
- Double check that every Windows update is installed, including 1803
- Run SFC, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-repair-system-files/bc609315-da1f-4775-812c-695b60477a93
nvwgf2umx_cfg.dll is what is crashing and is a Video Card Driver.
Could you please list your Extensions, Security Programs , are you using Stardock ?
Could you check your Windows 10 Event Viewer Logs and see what it points to please at the times it crashed, or crash it and then go look at what did the crash please.
Hi,
Yes I have already fully uninstalled and reinstalled GPU driver, also yes hardware acceleration is off.
My browser is completely default, no add-ons and I'm using Norton Security.
Its just frozen a bunch of times just now and there are no new crash reports, also the event viewer just says 1 crash in the last 24 hours which is DistributedCom/System.
HI, please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Hi,
When I uninstall I see no folders anywhere, I deleted the temp one on the dashboard, when I search the C drive it comes up with some folders under \Appdata that it won't let me delete though.
The PC also crashed again without Firefox open now whilst just looking through files, it has come up with multiple Microsoft-Windows-AppModel-Runtime/Admin errors.
It is a prebuilt system and I have since re-installed windows, if this is possibly a hardware or build fault I have a warranty to ship it off! :(
You should try running a chkdsk and memtest on your computer, also, possibly remove your graphics card and see if it still crashes.
Hi,
In Nvidia graphics settings I had changed threaded optimization from auto to on, I switched it back to auto and it hasn't crashed or stalled on me yet.
Hoping this was this issue!
Hi, it sounds like it. When a crash report focuses on a specific thing then it is like a autopsy to find the problem in the many things that it uses. It is hit and miss. Glad you found the issue. When you think for sure it is fixed then Select Your answer as the Solution.
