Hi. This just started happening, I think after the latest update (Firefox 87). When doing a Google or other search clicking a link used to open a new tab, leaving the original tab intact. Now clicking the link opens in the current tab. If I hold down 'ctrl' the link opens in a new tab. In Options I have 'Open links in new tabs....' checked. I also set 'browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs' to true. I have turned off all add-ins and nothing has an affect. Any suggestions?

Hi hiltsy, there's a Google search site setting for this. It's stored in a cookie, so since cookies can easily get cleared, that might be why you are back to the default behavior.

On the following page, find the "Where results open" section and check the box for new window -- Firefox will divert it to a new tab instead:

https://www.google.com/preferences

Does that return Google to how it was working before?

Thanks Milo, that did it. Bing & Yahoo didn't have the issue, just Google.

Cheers!!!
