All my emails have disappeared in Thunderbird. They are still there, I just can't see them.

I have done all the usual things - restarting Thunderbird, restarting my Mac, deleting Thunderbird and reinstalling it, deleting my mailbox but keeping the data then reinstalling it, and finally, deleting my mailbox and the data and reinstalling both. I am not in "unified" in the "folders" section of "view" as I have seen suggested online. Nothing has worked.

But I know the emails are there because, after I deleted both my mailbox and data and reinstalled them. I could see my emails being downloaded one by one from my IMAP mailbox on the AOL server.

I have five separate email boxes and it's happened to all of them but, on my Macbook, I also use Thunderbird, have the same five email boxes and everything is fine there.

In addition, I have discovered that my list of email contact groups in my address book is no longer in alphabetical order but entirely random. I can't find a way of putt the groups back into order again. I think this must be linked to the other problem because it happened at the same time.
