Need better control over restoring sessions from backup
As a follow-on to my query about restoring a session after inadvertently closing a window, I suggest the following:
Have a "Restore Session" menu item that offers a configurable number of previous sessions, with a summary like this for each choice:
3 windows
Window 1 - 69 tabs Window 2 - 31 tabs Window 3 - 28 tabs
You could pop up the summary for each session as the user hovers the mouse over it.
It would also be nice to be able to get thumbnails of each restorable session, perhaps by right-clicking on it.

Firefox has a screen that lists your previous session windows and tabs, but as far as I know the only time it is displayed is when both:
(1) Firefox crashed, and on startup, Firefox proceeds with automatic crash recovery (2) Automatic crash recovery failed for some reason (or you modify a setting so Firefox skips the first try)
Not sure how difficult it would be to add this as a standard user interface option.
Mozilla recently setup a new "Ideas" site at https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/ (unfortunately, doesn't use your Firefox Account login...).
Replacing sessionCheckpoints.json with a file that only contains "{}" (without the quotes) is sufficient to get the about:sessionrestore page. Do not simply remove this file because that doesn't work (this is seen as a first start of a new profile).
