In tools, options, privacy, do you have 'always remember history' selected?
I don't see that exact verbage but I have "Remember search and Form History" checked. Under settings I have the following checked (see attached images). As long as I stay in Firefox it remembers my email address, but once I exit I have to type it in again.
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. :o)

- Such details are stored in a cookie.
- You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
- Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
- Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode
In the first of your screenshots, select 'Firefox will remember history' at the top. Then check for the issue.
Mozilla Firefox help has been a great textbook to look out of when I have trouble.
