I have dual screens (19" & 24"). This is a problem on the non-primary screen (screen #2). If I close the window in full it will open in full. If I pick any other size/location it always opens the same size in the same location. The location is centered left/right and a bit above center. I deleted the "localstore.rdf" file, no change. Any other ideas I can try? Win7(32), ATI Radeon 3650HD, Plugins up to date Thank You Mark

Window sizes and positions are stored in localstore.rdf in the Profile Folder.

Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the Profile Folder to test if the file is corrupted.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
(caution: do not delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox program installation folder)

Note:
Deleting the file localstore.rdf will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults.
You can rename "localstore.rdf" to "localstore.rdf.sav" to test if that solves it.
Then you can restore the customization by copying "localstore.rdf.sav" to "localstore.rdf" if it didn't work.

I tried that, no change. I did find a workaround on the web. Under Tools/Options/General/Startup I picked "Show my windows and tabs from last time". Not a fix, but better. I noticed IE 8 and MS Office does not have this problem. Thunderbird 3 has the same problem and a few of my other programs have similar issues. It seems to be a "Monitor 2" problem. And then there is iTunes. It doesn't remember it's size in either screen. Thanks for the Reply Mark

To anyone that is reading this post I believe I understand why I have this problem. After playing around for a while I noticed some of my programs (Firefox & Thunderbird included) are opening to the max dimension of my smaller screen when it is the primary screen. Most of my programs do not have this issue, so I'm thinking it is not a windows problem. Hopefully the programmers will provide a solution soon.
