How do I get my bookmarks button (not the bookmarks toolbar) to show up on the navigation bar?

I fully understand how to bring the bookmarks button (star) back using the tabs on top feature. I also know how to again use my bookmarks toolbar. But... for some reason when I go to customize my navigation toolbar it shows the bookmarks button, then when I click "done" the bookmarks button goes away. All that shows up in my navigation bar are the back one page/forward one page button, the navigation bar, the reload button, the search bar, and the home button. How do I get the bookmarks button to not be hidden?

You only see that button on the Navigation Toolbar is the Menu bar and the Bookmarks toolbar are hidden.

If the bookmarks toolbar is visible then the default bookmarks menu button will appear on the right hand side of the Bookmarks Toolbar as part of the Bookmarks Toolbar Items.

Thanks for the help, but is there any current way to see both the bookmarks toolbar and the bookmarks button? I also use the multi-row bookmarks toolbar add-on and really have a need to see both.

When using the multi-row bookmarks toolbar it does not make the bookmark button visible.

I'm sure my situation is unique, but I manage 32 different websites and need to have all of them at quick access so I need both the bookmarks toolbar and multi-row boomarks toolbar.

I realize that I can access my other saved bookmarks in two steps using the Firefox button in the upper left-hand corner, but was hoping for a simpler solution.

It looks like I'll have to wait for someone to come up with an add-on that will solve my problems.

Thanks again for the information.
