I was looking for where firefox downloads files from the web. All I can find is the download list window which only has a "clear" button.
When I download a file from the web, I would like to find it in the Windows Explorer window, but don't know where to look. (I use Windows 7 64 bit on an HP Pavillion Laptop) Where does Firefox download the files which it lists in its own little Download Window, but only allows you to "Clear" the list, not copy, or open, or move the file? Where are the actual files at?

Location of Last File Downloaded & Saved
go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> Downloads section -> select Radio Button Option1 "Save Files to" Dialogue box -> click "Browse..." button and from here you can find the exact hierarchy of folders where a Download has been saved most recently.
If you want to know When a Download Starts Downloading and Where you want to Save the Download, performs these steps:
go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> Downloads section -> place Checkmark on "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file" -> Remove Checkmark from "Close it when all downloads are finished" -> select Radio Button Option2 "Always ask me where to save files" -> click OK.
Check and tell if its working.

Thank you, just what I was looking for, I think.... I was sending an e card from a website, and one of them was downloaded and saved, another two that I sent, were not downloaded and saved... Would you know why this might have happened?? Was it probably the website, and I accidentally hit a button, or would it have been something to do with Firefox??? Thanks for clearing up the issue about where, and using the tools menu and such. I have just begun using Firefox over IE9 and so far love it, even though I am familiar with IE9 and dislike learning curves in general, I do like Firefox if my patience holds out!! Thanks for your input, Mike
