I updated from Firefox 6.0.2 to 7.0.1. When I started Firefox the home page did not load nor did it show in the URL area. I manually entered a URL and not thing happened. The tab only shows 'New Tab' When I revert back to 6.0.2 everything is OK. I am on an older iMAC (later part of 2007) running OSx 10.7.1

hello,

Please try this: Exit Firefox by clicking the X button or by clicking File > Exit. Wait for a few seconds to make sure that FF has fully exited. Start FF again. I've had this happen to me. I am not sure but it seems that FF sometimes starts in offline mode though the Work Offline option is unselected. Toggling the Work Offline option doesn't make any difference but restarting Firefox does.

Hope this helps.

Tried what you said. Started FF, exited FF, waited a few minutes, started FF, exited FF, waited a few minutes, started FF again. Every time the same. No page load and the TAB never shows anything other then 'New Tab'. As I stated the previous version of FF and just to add Safari, and Chrome work with no problems

Check your firewall rules. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firewalls

finitarry - Excellent, I have Intego and focused on that but the answer was Little Snitch. I deleted everything that showed Firefox and reinstalled the upgrade. Looks like it works perfectly. In your link someone talked about deleting all entries in the firewall for Firefox and then do the install. Did that and BAM I am back to surfing. Thanks you very much for your help.
