I will not download Firefox again until it comes WITHOUT Ask.com's search engine - are you going to offer it without "Ask".
I ceased using Firefox 7 because I could not get rid of Ask.com, which I detest. Subsequently when Firefox 8 appeared I tried downloading that, but it turned up wi the dreaded Ask.com. I had some difficulty in getting rid of Ask.com an eventually uninstalled the whole firefox 8 download. I will not use it again until it's free of Ask.com.

Firefox does not include Ask when downloaded from any of the Mozilla site links.
- If you download Firefox from any other site OR when you install any other software, some additional items might be included, and you should watch carefully during the install for an opportunity to not install the "extras".
- You usually have an opportunity when downloading (mostly free) software from the internet to un-check items such as 1). installing the Ask Toolbar or 2). making Ask your default search engine in your browser. This also applies to other toolbars and default search engines
- Remove Ask Toolbar (if you have it installed):
- Reset your home page (if the Ask search page is displayed when starting Firefox): http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
- You can reset to the default by clicking "Restore to default" on Options > General > Startup > Home page. Be sure to set "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page" on that same panel.
- Reset your Location Bar search engine (if typing a few words in the URL/Location Bar takes you to Ask search):
- type about:config in your Location Bar, like typing a web site address, and press the Enter key
- ignore warning and choose to continue
- in Filter, type keyword.URL
- in lower part of screen, if it is bold and shows "user set", right-click keyword.URL and choose "Reset"
- in Filter, type Ask
- any items in lower part of screen in bold and showing "user set", right-click and choose "Reset"
- close about:config tab
- See:
- If Ask is shown in your Search Bar and you want to remove it:
