Firefox is not the wost chrome still is and IE still is firefox is one of the best browswer still out there not sure why people love chrome so much its crap its shit. if you don't like this browser why are you trolling

Chrome is good, it is lightweight and doesn't hack up all my resources. The only reason I'm not using the browser is because I HATE the interface and layout. Things like: no 'send page' option, drop down url, and the bookmark doesn't work with the end/home key function (to jump and skip up & down instead of scrolling through one by one), etc., etc.. As for Internet Explorer it is an entire different story.

I still like Firefox very much but the latest version just plain out SUCK! It throws my cursor off 70% of the time; meaning when I go to a page or link, the page does not respond unless I hover inside the browser and click the page to enabling it again for functioning. This goes for when I'm trying to adjust the volume on my keyboard when watching youtube videos; instead, my volume from the keyboard ended up controlling the youtube screen. Only way to correct this is to click on the bottom bar of the browser, or inside the browser for the cursor to 'land' on the page for it to work properly. Very frustrated most of the time.

For the meantime, I am forced to use Chrome, or even IE9!

I have to agree with the OP and others here - a couple features don't work.

I have a html page on my desktop; it's local - doesn't connect to the internet. I wrote javascript code in the html page, for months, and it has been working well. I upgrade to 13.0.1 and bingo - my javascript doesn't work.

Javascript functions like "alert" and "windows.open" don't work.

Did FF change it's behavior w.r.to these functions now?

I really need to make my code work else, my hard work is going to be wasted because FF suddenly thought they knew exactly what each user wanted, if they changed FF's behavior w.r.to these functions. Don't get me wrong - I've been using FF for a couple years now, and wouldn't want to move to a different browser - but if FF keeps changing these arbitrarily because a couple programmers thought they "knew" what every user wants [and assumed that simple things like javascript "alert" and "windows.open" weren't necessary], I will be moving on to a different browser.

firefox 13 has shot itself in the foot. I get frozen mouse pointer and have to restart whole computer [xp3] specially on text input replying to say a forum post.

put in about;crash reports the stupid thing says it hasn't got any.

basically you broke it, mozilla. As a webmaster i'm now fed up with these freezes and reluctantly will have to remove firefox, my favourite honoured browser, from my system,. and yes i have re-installed it from scratch, and no its not website pages its ALWAYS on firefox, not any other browser, and yes i have loads of memory etc.

also i did follow recommendations to alter scroll and video acceleration its made no difference whatsoever, something is wrong with the way the mouse pointer movement is being handled, its not mymouse i put a different driver in woithout effect. the freeze can even occurr quietly without any mose movement. locks up the screen permanently, cannot access anything from then on. pointer stuck..

Ever since the update, I've had issues with Firefox. At first, the mouse would simply freeze up, followed by Firefox freezing, requiring me to restart my computer. After the Flash player update, that subsided...only to be replaced by the mouse hanging up for 2-3 seconds, at random, frequently, and only in Firefox. All the troubleshooting in the world has brought up absolutely nothing--I'm forced to admit it must be related to Firefox (as if the issue only occuring in Firefox wasn't enough clue for me).

I don't mind chrome i am using that since firefox has so much issues right now. i can't use it i can't watch videos i can't see picture and i did everything it ask me to i even downloaded and older version still does the same to me.

hi critter, yes i agree entirely, i love firefox it was/is far better than ie, but chrome is trying to have its own layout brand and i don't like the look and feel of it either. maybe one of the mozilla crew will respond and say what is being done about the firefox probs.

Fixed! Everything described here is addressed and smooth sailing now. The solution: uninstall the latest Adobe Flash Player and download the 10.25 or 11 version.

Critter: so if you had just bought a car and stuff started going wrong with it, you'd sell it instead of wanting the manufacturer to fix it? If so that just makes you stupid.

Hareslade: yeah, that frustrates me as well. For a browser to be able to lock up my system and require a reboot is seriously annoying.

Netscaper: that's crap. It has nothing to do with flash. You probably work for Mozilla. This has been going on for the last few versions of FF and as far as the memory leak, that's been going on since FF came out. PLUS, flash would have nothing to do with a memory leak since it doesn't affect IE, Opera, Safari, Chrome, etc unless they're all just coded better to support Flash.

i tend to agree its not to do with flash specifically, but i did have trouble installing flash first time so its possible that it interacts. But latest flash is in my pc anyway.

It reminds me of the old days of microsoft where the mouse pointer would stick, but everything's got super complicated and i wonder if the levels of complexity are coming home to roost nowadays.

Every time they upgrade levels of what html xhtml jquery ajax flash [etc] can do, the browsers get ever more complex so i'm not altogether surprised.

Well, it worked fine for me now concerning my previous complaints. This includes no more subtle freezes and other erratic behaviors. I know Adobe Flash causes a lot of conflicts on my end, and also like how you described from your original post. Perhaps I'm posting on the wrong thread to begin with. But I'm happy my problems are solved because I didn't have to settle for IE9 or Chrome.

Oh, and I wish I worked for Mozilla. That would be really cool, and I'm a huge Mozilla fan - hence my username. I hailed from the early works of Netscape!

the worst problem for us users [in my case] is the mouse freeze locking our computer up needing a restart, and thats what needs a fix. as i said earlier, my firefox never did any error logs, presumably because once its froze, it can't log.

if nothing else, there are error handlers in the browser code, so it sounds like a new handler is required, to avoid the freeze ups. laypersons view!

i had 5 non-exactly-similar freezeups in a row trying to put text in a forum reply, after pc restarts. so firefox has a susceptibility which hasn't been fixed.
