firefox says I must install flash player ...I have the most current flash player...it works fine when using IE. I have the most current version of firefox.....it gives me the update plug in message. when i try and do that it just takes me to some page that tries to sell me stuff. It is also blocking something called console video that I can not find on my hard drive.

IE uses the ActiveX version of Flash, where Firefox would use the Plugin version of Flash if you had it installed.

well, I downloaded the version for firefox and it still does not work...so I guess I'm out of luck...no more firefox ....disappointing.

Do you see the Flash plugin in Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins and on the about:plugins (via the location bar)?

Does the Adobe test page work?

thanks WFF I followed your advice except did not delet the pluginreg.dat file as instructed because of the dire warning that messing with this file can ef up your system. Instead I clicked on the "reset firefox" button on the same instruction page and flash is now magically working! thanks for your help!

Where did you get deleting pluginreg.dat messes with your system at? It only refreshes the list of plugins.

when I clicked on the pluginreg.dat file the warning box popped up and said that making any changes to this file could seriously harm the operating system.

windows fear tactics are designed for people like me who don't speak computer. Just like most users, I don't want to know how it works...I just want it to work.
