Why does the YouTube play/stop logo look distorted in my fire fox tab bar?

more options

I have noticed that the you tube arrow icon looks distorted on my version of Firefox, 23.0.1. My version of Internet Explorer 10 for windows 7 does not do this. It loads normally, and looks like a play pause button. Furthermore, on another lab top that I have, I also installed Firefox 23.0.1 on it, and it loads the You Tube icon fine. I know or think that it is not a virus because I did a full system scan with Avast Antivirus, and it said: "No threat found". I even scanned with Windows Defender and also found nothing, so what can or should I do to fix this problem that I'm having with Firefox? Could someone explain what the problem could be? Thanks Chris :)

This can be a problem with the Segoe UI font.

Cor-el,

Thanks for the help, but the information that you gave to me did not solve my problem! I followed the directions in the links, but it did not work for my PC!

Has the play button looked normal before on Firefox?

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • Open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

Please report back soon.
