Here's a screenshot of the problem: http://i.imgur.com/y2binxI.png

The tab bar isn't lining up with the dropdown button, and nothing I've tried yet has fixed it.

Things I've tried:

- Un-maximising and re-maximising the window (this has worked in the past when I have this problem, but not this time)
- Moving things around in the Customize screen to see if something got moved out of place
- Restarting with add-ons disabled
- Checking for any toolbars to hide/unhide

I haven't yet tried doing a full uninstall/reinstall yet because, well, that would be a bit of a pain.

Any suggestions?

Are you running Firefox with a maximized screen?

You can set the Boolean pref browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar to true on the about:config page to see if that helps.

Hello,

That is odd. Please try starting Firefox in Safe Mode:

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode

I know you said that you had tried disabling add-ons but Safe Mode also makes some changes to Firefox's settings. Does that work?

If that doesn't help I'd suggest a Firefox Reset. This will return Firefox to its default settings. Your bookmarks, history etc will be saved but you will need to reinstall your add-ons.

I hope that helps. Let me know if not.

My guess is that an extension you have installed is causing that to happen.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.
Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Firefox SafeMode

  • You can open the Firefox 15.0+ SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Or it might be caused by Hardware Acceleration.

When you figure out what is causing that, please let us know. It might help other user's who have that problem.

Nope, the problem persists with Safe Mode active.
