I am having problems with latest version of Firefox on several windows 8.1 systems. I can go to any website and it will load correctly. If I leave that page and go back to it later the page loads incomplete. Everything displays off to the left and all pictures are displayed as just links. This does not always happen but enough that it is irritating. Also did not have this issue at all in previous Firefox version, started after new version installed which I believe is 30.

Ok can you please tell us what is the internet speed you are browsing in as this may happen due to slow internet connection.

You just need to reset your firefox. If the problem still exists then you need to fresh install the latest version of firefox on your system.

My internet speed if I understand correctly is about 1.5 Mbps

I have cleared cookies and cache etc and all this does not fix the issue as it returns. I will look for info on how to reset as I have not tried this.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Just an update, I reset last week and seemed okay for a day or so but the issue returned. I even left the add-ons off after reset. Very strange as this never happened on previous versions.

Just another update as the issue has gone away finally but I'm not sure what corrected it as I did 2 things. First I did another reset because I noticed that I had 2 versions of adobe shockwave running, version 12 and 14. I tried to disable the older version but every time I rebooted it would turn itself on again. I ended up uninstalling Abobe Flash, which removed both versions of shockwave and then did a reinstall of Flash. Now I just have 1 version running. I think this may have been causing the issue but I'm not 100% sure.
