I have TB 24.6.0 and I deleted the menu or tool bar from my address book and I can't figure out how to get it back.
I am trying to figure out how to efficiently copy a contact so I can add the contact information to an email. While experimenting I unchecked the menu bar or the tool bar from my address book and now I can't figure out how to get it back. So you could say I have two questions for which I would welcome suggestions:
1. How do I get my menu/tool bar back into my address book?
2. How can I efficiently copy and paste contact information?
Thank you Rowdy1

Sounds like a good plan. Version 31 and above is a mess right now. I am staying at v24.6 until they get the problems worked out. Version 24.7 came out before v31 but I never got that one so I do not know anything abut it or what it fixed.
Here is the previous version page. http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/ Find the version you want and click that selection. You want to select your operating system. Win32 Then the language. EN-US Then run the .exe file.
Your profile with all your mail and settings are separate so they should not be effected when you install the older version. Making a backup is not a bad idea anytime or just to be safe on the version change. I use Mozbackup. http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
The auto update options are found at Tools-Options-Update. I usually have mine set to Ask First but with the V31 mess I have turned off the option to even check. I want to make sure I do not get that version for a while.

The alt key or F10 will reveal hidden toolbars. Then use View- Toolbars to turn them back on.
Then press F9 when in a write window to turn on the contact sidebar for access to your address books.
I got my menu bar back! Thank you!
What I was looking for with my second question was an easy way to copy all of a contact's information onto a clipboard without moving from field to field so I can paste it into the body of an email.
Thank you Rowdy1
Try this and see if it is what you are looking for.
Open the address book Right click the contact and select Copy Other Date-All Data
Paste that into the email. You will have to delete the blank categories.
When I Right click the contact the dialog box gives me the following options:
Properties Write Instant Message, (Greyed out.) Delete
It doesn't give me the option to select Copy Other Date-All Data.
Thank you Rowdy1
That is odd. I am also running V24.6 and this is what right clicking a contact brings up.
I checked again. TBV24.6. I don't understand why that's not what I get. Running on a Windows 7 machine.
Could have anything to my using a custom theme?
Anything is possible. Win 7 here too.
Could you have an add on installed that I don't have installed?
My Thunderbird account automatically updated so now I am on version 31.0
I am using More Functions for Address Book. That is where I get that choice. I forgot that I downloaded that to try to answer another persons question. I usually do not use add ons or newly released, major version upgrades. I wait for the .2 or .3 version so the bugs get worked out.
Can you tell me the exact name of the add on? I tried searching "More Functions for Address Book" and tried adding some of the add ons that came up but so far have not been able to get the functionality you describe.
You get the add on here. https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html
I think I'm getting close. More Functions for Address Book doesn't work on TB31.1 which is now my current version. I think it will run on a previous version... perhaps I can go back to TB24.6 and stay there for awhile. Can you tell me how to get back to TB24.6 and stay there without updating?

Okay! Okay! I got it! It works perfect!
Thanks for your patience and your help!
This is the first time I've used Mozilla Support. You gave me all the tools and instruction I needed to get the functionality I was looking for.
Thanks again!
