Hello, when I try to save certain .png files on firefox they save corrupted and cannot be opened or uploaded anywhere. (It does not give me an error when I save, only when I try to open what I saved)

For example: any of the pictures on here: http://ladyflash.livejournal.com/23577.html#comments

It is only certain pngs, and certain websites. If I open the same page in chrome I have no problems with saving and opening the file.

Does this also happen if you save the images via "Tools > Page Info > Media" ?

Do the files have the correct file extension?

Can you open the files in an image editor or image viewer (e.g. IrfanView)?

more options

Yes, it still saved as corrupted using page info. The file extension is correct, it is listed as a .png.

I just downloaded irfanviewer, and it will not open the file, it says it is corrupted.

Can you open the file in a text editor or text viewer to see if the file contains plain text?

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is interfering otherwise.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

It does contain text, as follows:

It appears to not be saving image information, but page information instead. Do you still want me to try to boot it into safe mode? This issue is happening on 2 separate laptops, one running windows 8, the other windows 7, both with different anti viruses

more options

No, I do not think that it is necessary to boot in Safe Mode.

looks like an issue with Photobucket that has been reported before and id caused by the HTTP accet header that is send. If that is the standard header that contains text/html then the Photobucket server send a web page that contains the image instead of the real image. The Photobucket server only sends the image in an image accept header is send or the accept header is empty.
