What happended to my home page and bookmarks and settings after refresh?
Got a message that said Firefox slow to load and gave me option of Refresh. Completed all steps and now bookmarks, home page and other information is not showing

I was able to fix prior to getting the very good answers. What is upsetting to me is that I asked for a refresh and got a new version with new settings rather than a "refresh" Come on Mozilla, you are better than that! It's starting to feel like IE all over again!

After a Refresh, it's normal to get the built-in Firefox home page, but it's also normal to still have your bookmarks and saved passwords. This article lists what should happen: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.
The Refresh process moves your old settings folder to the Desktop inside a folder named Old Firefox Data. Can you find that folder?
Assuming you find that folder, you can try using the bookmark restore feature to restore your bookmarks. In the following article, when you get to the step involving the menu with file dates, use Choose File... at the bottom to point Firefox to your Desktop, into Old Firefox Data, into your old profile folder, then into the bookmarkbackups subfolder, and try restoring the most recent file there.
Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
Does that work?
What else is missing?
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.
