Among other things, a second Firefox keeps opening that I see in Task Manager. And when it does it seems to stall everything else.

Firefox seems to stall too often. Lately it also does the following: It seems to stall even as Task Manager (in WIndows) doesn't read "Not Responding" as it usually would when it stalls.

Instead a second facebook is shown with a lower Memory Usage, despite that no second Facebook window opens. I delete it and many times it starts again.

I have looked for malware, etc. with two different anti-virus software, AVG and SUPERantispyware. They find nothing but tracking cookies, even after this and after refreshing Facebook in Troubleshooting, this problem persists.

More than one process is normal for the current Firefox. http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/22/multi-process-firefox/

Multi-process Firefox is codenamed "e10s". https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/multiprocess

Try to disable multi-process tabs in Firefox. You can disable multi-process tabs in Firefox by setting the related prefs to false on the about:config page.

browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the I Accept the Risk button. At the top of the screen is a search bar.

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.
