I was just getting acquainted with Firefox when I noticed a tab that I had closed ~20 minutes previous was showing up on another desktop as a preview thumbnail. See screenshot.

If I weren't at work and already wasting a bit of time getting FF set up, I'd try to recreate the issue.

Hello,

How this works: The thumbnails are not of every page and show the most frequently used.

Looks like the original screencap was too large.

Mkll: Okay, that makes some sense to me. But the issue, to me, is that I have a free-floating preview image hovering over a random desktop.

Strange, try restarting FF.

I finished sending a few emails, so I was able to close Firefox. I've closed the program -- see new image -- and the preview's still there. Odd. Is there a "Restart Firefox" command that I should have used rather than closing out?

I'm open to suggestions, and I'll try to keep dropping in for comments throughout the day.

So killing Firefox didn't do anything for me, but killing dwm.exe did the trick. I imagine this means that it's possible for Firefox to hand off the preview to Window's desktop compositing and then orphan it there for forever. It's my understanding that dwm is very passive and won't drop anything it's told to hold onto until it is specifically told to drop it.

Hello, this could be a problem with your graphics driver and Windows Aero (which uses dwm) try updating your driver.
