Every time I click on an email attachment, the attachment saves on my desktop. How do I stop this from happening?

I work on a MacBookPro. When I open an attachment from an email, it automatically saves to my desktop. I would like to stop this.

In Windows you go to .. Options-Attachments-Incoming

It might be Preferences instead of Options on your Mac. If not, I guess you can just look through the menus for the Attachments page. Who knows, you might find something else helpful in the menus.

It might be Preferences instead of Options on your Mac. If not, I guess you can just look through the menus for the Attachments page. Who knows, you might find something else helpful in the menus.
