Hello,

Since 3-4 days, Sync no longer synchronizes any elements, from one device to another i no longer have access to my passwords saved in Lockwise or my shared tabs. I tried to disconnect all my devices then reconnect, i "forced" synchro, i installed the Lockwise Android app on my phone but but the sync runs in a vacuum so the app doesnt seem to download my data & credentials...

What can i do more to recover my data or restore sync ?

Are the contributors in contact with some IT guys from Firefox team to report issues ?

I have been able to contact forum members who work with Sync development who I have PM'd in the past for help with specific question threads similar to this to help the OP in that thread (multiple threads and times), but the response from the developers in those threads was spotty at best. I also asked about getting help in a private Moderators part of this fora, and the answers I got there didn't provide any impetus towards my goal of getting limited developer help with support for Sync from the higher ups.

And when Andriod devices are thrown into the 'mix', it adds a complication that I can't see - as I don't use a smart phone with Firefox and Sync, or Lockwise which from what I have seen posted here works different on Android and iOS than on Linux/Windows/Mac OSX PC's and laptops.

You can open about:sync-log via the location bar to see whether recent Sync logs are available.
You can upload the file to a website like Pastebin if you can't post the content of the file in a reply.

Can you login to the Firefox account via this web page?

Thanks for your response.

Here is my last Sync log error file content : https://pastebin.com/V5BqX2ic

Let me know if you need more logs.

Yes i can login to my Firefox account from any device, even from the Android Lockwise app, but i can't get my data/credentials back.

Moreover, it seems several users have a similar issue in regards to the forum recent topics.

It seems shared tabs have been restored, but Sync still doesn't work for Lockwise.

I am getting an Epoch timestamp of 1593399956537 from that Sync Log, which translates to Sunday, June 28, 2020 10:05:56.537 PM GMT-05:00 DST.

Perhaps an older / earlier Sync-error log would give someone here more information and closer to where the original error began. And / or maybe a newer Log.

But I am far from having much knowledge of what goes wrong with Sync; not an IT guy, just another Firefox (since 2002) & Sync user (since before Sync landed as a built-in feature; did testing for the the original Weave add-on which later became Sync and built-in to Firefox).

Android Lockwise app handles Password / Login data by retrieving that data as needed from the Sync server; Desktop / Laptop Firefox stores that Lockwise data on the device and forwards it to the Sync server to be shared with other devices as saved or updated.

You can install the About Sync extension in Firefox 72 and newer on desktop to check what data is stored on the Sync server via the about:sync page provided by this extension.

You may have to close and restart Firefox to access the about:sync page added by this extension (see the about:about page for available about pages).

The issue seems to be solved right now, so i can access my shared tabs from any device and I was able to get my bookmarks back with no apparent loss.

Thanks for your support !

Before closing this topic, what is the best process to have these technical issues solved ? Am i doing the right way passing by this forum ? Are the contributors in contact with some IT guys from Firefox team to report issues ?

I have a similar problem.

The Sync function on my Windows 10 laptop has been spinning for over 10 minutes (!) while it ceased spinning on my iPhone after about 45 seconds.

My about:sync-log had error files stretching back over a month. I copied the most recent log details into pastbin (couldn't figure out how to paste a file - just tried going to about:sync-log

I tried logging out of Firefox and logging back in - that didn't help.

Any idea what could be causing this, and how to fix this?
