Why Can't We View Certain Crossword Puzzles with Firefox?

more options

My wife likes to print certain crossword puzzles every day. We've discovered that some sites won't open in Firefox 77.0.1 (64-bit). We can't find a setting that fixes this and would appreciate help.

Here are the links we use:

We can download these puzzles in Google Chrome but they don't print properly that way.

Thanks!

Hello, Since you are using an older version of Firefox, I would like you to kindly Update Firefox to the latest release and try again opening your sites. If that doesn't resolve the issue please inform me.

Thank you.

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?

Does the page load? Is the problem just with downloading the puzzle?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Hi Anan, do you get the large black square that says you need to activate the Flash plugin? I'm attached a screenshot.

Once you have gotten past that, do you get a puzzle or a blank area? If it's blank:

Could you check the "Shield" icon at the left end of the address bar to see whether Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking something in the page, and whether turning that off makes any difference (for the puzzle; I'm pretty sure it will allow ads)?
