This probably happened with an update? Try this: 1. download latest version of TB. 2. Delete the installed version, e.g., c:\program files\thunderbird (Do NOT do an UNINSTALL) 3. Install the new version. The installed new version may need help finding your profile. If so,

 - click the Windows icon on task bar
 - type run and press enter
 - that opens a command line. Enter thunderbird.exe -p and press enter
 - that opens a panel of your profiles. select the profile and continue to TB
