Note: -> Keep the setup file of the current version of Fast Download Manager which you are currently using on your system (just in case the version i am going to provide here will not work or in case it will have bugs)
Uninstall the current Free Download Manager version that you are using. Also Remove its add-ons, extension, toolbars or plugins from Firefox (see the below articles for help in this matter)
- Disable or remove Add-ons
- Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page
- Cannot remove an add-on (extension or theme)
- Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems
After you have successfully removed Fast Download Manager from your system, install Free Download Manager 3.9 RC1 Build 1194 from here:
- http://yourfreeware.com/downloads/info/download_free_download_manager/
Free Download Manager official website -> www.freedownloadmanager.org/
Check and tell if its working.
May not be related to your problem but some of your Firefox Plugins are out-dated, so you need to Update them.
-> Update All your Firefox Plugins by visiting the following link:
- When Downloading Plugins setup files, Remove Checkmark from Downloading other Optional Softwares with your Plugins (e.g. Toolbars, McAfee, etc.)

I'm not sure what you mean with that. The Windows Media Player is a plugin (that you do not seem to have installed or enabled) or is set to handle specific MIME types via the WMP options.
If you do not want to use the WMP plugin for specific files then you need to set the actions in "Tools > Options > Applications" to "Always ask" and also remove the setting in the WMP options.
