After updating Firefox to 13 a couple of days ago, I can't play any videos from any site (Youtube, Crackle, etc) and I can't look at Google street view. When I place the man on a street, nothing shows...just blank! I have latest plugins and Java, flash, etc are working just fine! Google Chrome and Internet Explore are working fine as well.

Until this problem is fixed, I gotta use Google Chrome! Help!

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

I have found the cure for this problem. There is a problem with the Flash v11 plugin conflicting with Firefox 13 and higher. The solution is to uninstall the Flash Player plugin v 11 in control panel/uninstall programs. Do not uninstall the Flash program itself - only the plugin. Then install Flash plugin v 10.3 from this web site

This fixed my problem.

t sounds like a problem with the recent FlashPlayer upgrades. You may need to downgrade to Flash Player 11.2 or the secure version 10.3, as explained in the linked articles.

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox 13 are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems

Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again

Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox

Thanks! I did exactly as you said and now everything is working! Do you think I should never update flash again in the future?

Glad to have helped. Thanks for posting back.

If you are on Flash 10.3 stay on that for a while, as it is secure. If you are on FlashPlayer 11.2 upgrade again once the problems are solved to 11.3 or whatever the new current version is.

We will try to keep up to date articles in our knowledge base, such as those I linked in the first post.

The fact is that security updates become necessary in a lot of software, and it is usually advisable to update when such patches are offered. Other changes are driven by a demand for improved features, and always have a risk of generating problems. We have problems ourselves with Firefox in trying to keep it up to date and secure, whilst also adding features.
