I want to set a certain webpage as my home page but each time I restart my computer the home page defaults to Google?
I want my home page to open as Yahoo, if I set it as Yahoo it works for that session only. However when I restart my computer or end the internet session the home page automatically goes to Google. How can I set Mozilla to open up Yahoo every time?

Hi, I don't know if you tried this already, but go to tools, options, and then see the top left tab: General. See where it says When Firefox starts, and select, Show my Homepage, then on the next line Homepage, type in www.yahoo.com, and then hit OK and that will give you yahoo.com each time.

Thank you!! If finally works correctly!
My internet has gone back to doing the same thing it was doing before. Only now, the suggestion you made no longer works. Have any suggestions?
try the excellent SearchReset add-on (the add-on uninstalls itself after making the "job")
thank you
EDIT : sorry DON'T use it because you want yahoo and the addon reset the "browser.startup.homepage" pref to its default value(google)

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Some security software has virtualization or sandbox features that may cause problems by protecting and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.
So do you have any other suggestions 'ideato'? Because what you said would make sense, I have used that app several times now and it seems to be exacerbating the problem.
And 'cor-el' I honestly have no idea what security software is running on my computer, I feel like I get so many notifications from so many different programs that I have no idea which ones are actually doing something.
If it only happens after rebooting the computer then it is likely that you have some software running that is restoring data to an earlier stage.
You can test this by booting the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that works.
