This app market has taken over my home page. I went to control panel and deleted it there but it has not gone away. Avast is what put it there and I got rid of that trouble thing. any help will be grateful.

hello ULUV_FRED, please try this:

  1. go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove "Bandoo for Firefox" since it might be adware.
  2. then go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information, click on profile folder/show folder and close all firefox windows afterwards. a windows explorer window should open up - in there delete the file named user.js - it is used by adware to overwrite some of your preferences.
  3. finally install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customizations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

hello, i'm sorry that those instructions were not understandable - however it's hard to describe it in any other way. maybe have a look at this article on how to remove extensions and on this article on how to remove the user.js file - they will lay it out in a bit more detail...

as an alternative you can also reset firefox!
