I have problem with unistall: http://newtab.certified-toolbar.com, what can I do?

Do you see that URL listed on the about:config page in the browser.newtab.url pref?
Try to reset some preferences to the default with the SearchReset extension:
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:
Tried everything to get rid of this. Loads of malwares and firefox reset.
After reset, when new home page is reset, on restart it goes back to this evil thing
http://search.certified-toolbar.com/
Frankly bemused as its not showing as a threat until I load firefox.
PLEASE advise what to do!! 2 days now wasted trying to remove it.
Thanks
Check for the presence of a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to initialize some prefs.
This also involves the presence of a file, probably in "defaults\pref" folder, that specifies to read this mozilla.cfg file.
If you have this mozilla.cfg file then best is to do a clean reinstall of Firefox and remove the Firefox program folder.
thanks for that. The file did not exist, but I opted for a clean install of firefox, and the issue seems to have been resolved.
Despite paying for malware (spyhunter), and downloading loads of trials it lingered on. I still get adware pop up from ANVI monitor when I am in firefox.
Worrying that people have nothing better to do than waste honest people's time.
THanks for your suggestion
Well, I thought it worked. But a second restart of the newly installed firefox showed in there in the title bar AGAIN.
Any ideas on how to permanently delete this??
First of all, uninstall the Certified Toolbar program and associated software. Open Control Panel and uninstall these programs:
- Certified Toolbar 2.1
- Protected Search 1.1
To remove Certified Toolbar remnants from Firefox, go to the page given below, scroll down until you find removal instructions for FF:

Good luck!
