Error code 1014 when trying to receive or send on Thunderbird
My Thunderbird email was working well until a few days ago. Now, when I try to receive new email or send I get a window asking for my password. Then I get a message that authentication failed , even though the password I enter is correct. I also see a small message in the lower right screen about error code 1014. What's really strange is that this problem happens , but not all of the time. After a few hours or a full day of this, Thunderbird starts working again. Then, the problem returns again after several hours. My computer recently had an improper shut down. I don't know if that might have caused this problem. I am able to consistently receive & send my email on Xfinity, but I'd prefer to keep using Thunderbird as my email program. My Thunderbird version is 102.3.3 & I have Windows 10. Would it help if I uninstall & reinstall Thunderbird? Thanks for any help if fixing is possible.

It may be just a coincidence, but I did a quick web search for more info on the error 1014 and what popped up were two others with same problem in past year with xfinity. So, my guess is there may be some server issue that is intermittent with xfinity. No, do NOT reinstall Thunderbird.
