Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove your Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not remove your Firefox profile data (such as bookmarks and passwords), since that information is stored in a different location.
To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, please follow these steps: Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
- Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from mozilla.org (or choose the download for your operating system and language from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
- After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu and click the close button ).
- Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.
WARNING: Do not use a third party uninstaller as part of this process. Doing so could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. These cannot be easily recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device! See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.
Please report back to say if this helped you!
Thank you.
I do not undestand what the message says. Is it a warning about refresh?
Dear Fred,
Yes, it's the warning every time i refresh.
Kind Regards
I don't think that can be disabled. Why do you refresh so much?
Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history
Can you post an English translation of that message?
Overall, why would your want to "Refresh" Firefox so frequently? What are you trying to achieve with the "Refresh"?
Dear Fred & Ed,
Fred; privat browsing did not help unfortunately
Ed; Edit in Chrome and preview in Firefox (Safari sucks)
Please See screen
Cheerio
Still no English translation ... We can't copy'n'paste text from an image into an online translator, but most of the time copy'n'paste works from Firefox messages like that. So when you're posting in an English language forum like this it is up to you to post translated text.
So you're talking about reloading a web page and by-passing the cache to get a "fresh load" from the server.
{ Ctrl + F5 }
"Refresh" in Firefox means resetting add-ons and settings. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
You get an alert about resending POST data if you go back to a page or refresh a page that was previously requested from the server by submitting form data via a (hidden) POST form. Firefox can only make sure to get the same page by resending that POST form. Firefox doesn't know what that form data means, so Firefox asks for confirmation before resending that form data as such an action can cause you to repeat an action and buy another item or post a message another time. A way to prevent this confirmation pop-up about resending POST data is not to use the Back button, but to open links on a page requested from a server by sending a form with POST date in a new tab or window with a middle-click or hold down the Ctrl key (tab) or Shift key (window) and left-click the link. You can close that tab or window instead of using the Back button.
