I just got a new computer. I've imported my address books, but autocomplete does not function, and a search of the address book returns nothing. It's as if Thunderbird thinks the address book is empty. I've tried importing in different file types, with no difference. Everything was imported to Personal Address Book, and that is selected in Settings. I'm using Ver 102.1.0. I have no add-ons. I've tried in Safe Mode, and it still doesn't work.

Are you saying the address book is empty, or that search isn't finding anything?

more options

If I open the address book, there are several hundred addresses in it. Search and autocomplete just can't find any of them.

@reporter

Check Tools > Developer Tools > Error Console for address book related entries a) on startup b) opening address book c) doing compose

Okay. What am I supposed to do once I have the error console open? All I see is a bunch of entries that I don't understand.

Updated from 91 to 102. I still have my address book on TB, but when sending emails, the lookup doesn't work and the concerned addresses seem to be incomplete. About 1/5 of addresses is corrupted. If this continues I will revert to 91 (again! tried 102 accidentally already half a year earlier and the calendar didn't work).

@tymcat, what exactly do you see for an incomplete address? Does it still happen with 102.2.2?

This error is described in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1789793

The fix is being delivered in 102.3.0 in the next several days.

I have the same problem with TB102.3.0.

I have this issue too. TB102.2.2 Ubuntu Linux. What I've noticed is that address that are in the "Collected Addresses" address book do appear in auto-complete. However those in other address books like CalDav based Google address book, which is what i use most do not feature in autocomplete. Before upgrading I did not have this problem.
