My folders in thunderbird are greyed out and will not let me access, add to or delete items from them. I have contributed to thunderbird in the past and will continue to do so if I can get an answer as to solving this folder issue.

My android phone will allow me to access and manage folders, but not so on Thunderbird.

Here's hoping.

I have Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit). I want to apply multiple filters in one query e.g. I want to check e-mails sent from "abc@xyz.com" to "prq@xyz.com" with subject "Regarding OS installation" in one query. How to apply such filters? In Outlook, we can do it like "From:abc@xyz.com,To:prq@xyz.com,Subject:prq@xyz.com" How to do such things in Thunderbird?

I hope that not everyone receives 5 or more phishing emails a day like I do. The phishermen have learned that if they put a lengthy enough name in front of the email address that said address won't be seen unless the email is opened. The fishy looking email address is of course is the first tip off that the message is phishing. Some however manage to use a plausible tag in front of the @ and somehow use a legitimate xxxx.com after the @. I received two of that type this week from a phony Uber account. I've forwarded them to Uber.

The current Tbird release does not allow the user to add the "From" column to the list displays. That would be useful. Anything more that you could come up with would be be appreciated by many. BTW I am using the DKIM extension, and so far it seems to be helpful.

My wife and I are in our late 70s and both had careers in data processing. We are aware and careful. In another 10 years, who knows.

I've been (mostly happily until 2 yrs ago) with Eudora. My usage model is to keep all (saved) email locally (20 yrs archive), access via POP. Unfortunately, the evolution of HTML, iso character sets, etc has been forcing me to move on. I tried TB about 2 yrs ago and abandoned the project for lack of time and urgency. I'm trying again, but now very serious. Anyway, I set up an install and did basic tests - all ok. But I can't seem to find config options to customize. I found some option to set my mail store to a folder of my choice (away from the system root -- C:\ - i use windows 10-11.) to something like E:\docs\tb. It created inbox, trash etc. right there. My previous install attempt (2 yrs ago) created these in a subfolder named for the email account (eudora calls 'personalities'). I do want to use multiple accounts each in their own 'garden', not in the same inbox, outbox, etc.. I can't find where to configure this - I can't even find how to configure my earlier choice to store them on E:. What am I missing? On some settings for copies and folders, it offers (eg) Sent folder on <email account>. I presume this is particular to IMAP and not relevant to my current setup.

That's enough to get me started, but I would like to eventually migrate my Eudora archives to TB, so a pointer to docs on this would be appreciated.

Tnx, Tom

Hello,

I added a new Outlook account to Thunderbird and it is not showing in Thunderbird. I added the new email account to Outlook client, and the email is comign in fine. So, its a Thunderbird issue.

I used the default IMAP settings when addding the new account.

I gave it the required/requested "permissions" as promoted.

This use to work fine in Thunderbird, as I have added several Outloook acounts prior which are coming in fine, but it seems it is no longer working now.

I receive this message when I click get messages. I only get 1 or 2 emails at a time. Not sure what the message means. I do have plenty of disk space.

Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox.

Thanks

Hello

I have the Thunderbird folder from the Macbook which contains install and profiles ini files and Crash Reports, Profiles and Pending Pings.

I have made several attempts to move all the files and folders over but it doesn't matter whether I move them before I install Thunderbird or after I've installed Thunderbird and before I launch the program but every time I get invited to open a new account; I've even tried opening a new account and then moving the files.

I've searched the Forum and other websites but cannot find anyone reporting or rectifying such a problem.

What am I doing wrong?

Kind regards

Mike
