On my 8.1 laptop, get message that Firefox has security issue and call the listed phone number for support before attemting to continue, price $99+-this legit?
When the indicated number is called, the "tech" leads you thru a long, rambling series of questions, had me follow his instructions while he was troubleshooting the problem but would not tell me who he worked for. When asked exactly how long process would take and what it would cost me, he said $99.89 and simply call back when I wanted to proceed and ask for him by name, but, also be aware the laptop could "freeze and lock-up" at any time, so don't delay. The whole thing sounds bogus but I still need to know whether there is a systemic problem and whether this notification is correct. Does this sound familiar to anyone out there?

. Whenever you get a message / popup like that;
DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS OR ANY PHONE NUMBERS ! !
Such messages are only Spam that could lead you to Fake Support. Not only can they damage or hack your system, they charge you to do so.
You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

No, that is not legit - not associated with Mozilla.
