Certain sites don't work properly on firefox but work fine on safari (for example unable to purchase anything on amazon or watch netflix)? How can I fix this?
For a while now my firefox browser has had some issues, Netflix will load onto the main homepage but it won't load fully, leaving icons rotating at the bottom and unable to click on a show or search for any - however loads fine on safari. It also won't let me buy things on amazon - it takes me to the checkout but then won't load when I click buy. Once again I am able to purchase on safari. However I am unable to use safari efficiently because it must have a virus as it gets tons of pop up ads that block the screen.
I've downloaded silverlight and tried following instructions on here, however it hasn't improved. I'm not techy at all so am struggling to understand what the problem is? I have Macbook pro which is nearly 3 years old.
Thankyou for any help!
Sophie

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

I deleted the cookies and cleared cache, and it still didn't work. Then your post reminded me I hadn't updated my firefox for a while - low and behold it's now running fine! Thanks a lot!
That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.
